Changing and recovering your password
I forgot my password, I want to change it, the reset email doesn't arrive, login is blocked after too many attempts.
I forgot my password
- Go to cohorta.co/login.
- Click "Forgot your password?" next to the Password field.
- Enter your account's email address and click "Send reset link".
- Check your inbox; a message with a link will arrive.
- Click the link and set a new password of at least 8 characters, then repeat it.
- Click "Set new password". You go straight into the app, already logged in.
The reset email doesn't arrive
For security reasons the form looks the same whether or not an account exists for the address you entered. We don't say "no such account", because that would let someone check who uses our platform.
That leads to the most common reason for a missing email: your account was created with a different address from the one you are typing.
Check in this order:
- Your Spam folder and Promotions tab.
- Whether you have a second address you might have used to sign up. Search
your inboxes for
cohorta; it will find old messages and show which address they went to. - Whether there is a typo in the address.
The reset link has expired
Links have a limited lifetime, so that someone looking through your inbox later can't use them. If you see a message that the link has expired or has already been used, request a new one and click it straight away.
If you requested a reset several times, use the link from the most recent email.
I want to change my password and I know the current one
There is no separate password change screen in the app. Use "Forgot your password?" on the login screen and set a new one. It works even if you know your current password.
It's worth doing if you used this password on another site, someone might have seen it, or you logged in on someone else's computer.
"Too many login attempts"
After five login attempts for the same email address within fifteen minutes, further attempts are temporarily blocked. This protects against password guessing.
You have two options: wait a quarter of an hour, or set a new password straight away with "Forgot your password?". The reset works despite the block, and afterwards you are logged in immediately.
Logging in with Google
If you signed up with Google, you don't have a password with us yet. You can keep logging in with the "Continue with Google" button.
If you want a password as well, use "Forgot your password?" with your Google account's address, and you will set one for the first time.
What makes a good password
We only require eight characters, but that is a technical minimum, not a recommendation. Several unrelated words are safer and easier to remember than an eight-character string with an asterisk. Don't use a password you use on another site.
When to write to us
- You no longer have access to the email inbox linked to your account. That is the only case you can't solve yourself.
- The reset email doesn't arrive even after checking everything above.
Write from another address and explain how we can confirm the account is yours: when it was created, course names, your latest purchase. We won't unlock an account without that confirmation, and that protects you too.
Did this not solve it? Write to support@cohorta.pl and describe what you are trying to do.
