What spaces are

An academy's community is divided into spaces, topic-based places for conversation. One can be general, another tied to a specific course.

Which ones you see depends on what you have access to. A space tied to a course is visible to people enrolled in that course, so don't be surprised if someone else sees more.

How to write a post

1. Go to Community in the sidebar and choose a space.
2. Click the writing box at the top of the list ("What's new with you?").
3. Write your text. You can add a title if the post is longer.
4. Click "Publish".

The post appears immediately, without needing the trainer's approval.

Who will see my post

Members of that space. It isn't a public website: posts aren't visible to people outside the academy and aren't indexed by Google.

That doesn't make it a private conversation. A course space with two hundred learners means two hundred people reading. A private conversation is a direct message, covered in a separate article.

Comments and reactions

You can comment on and react to every post. A reaction is the quickest way to say "useful" without writing yet another "thanks" comment that clutters the thread.

Correcting and deleting

A published post can't be edited or deleted by its author. Read it through before you click "Publish". If it needs correcting or removing, ask the academy's moderator. A post deleted by a moderator disappears together with its comments.

I see something inappropriate

Next to someone else's post or comment, click the three dots icon, choose "Report", pick a reason and click "Send report". The report goes to the academy's moderators and is confidential: the author does not know who sent it. You can also write to the trainer or moderator. Moderators can delete a post or comment and block someone who breaks the rules. Those decisions belong to the academy, not to us.

Don't reply offensively to an offensive post. Report it and leave it to the moderators.

What makes a good post

These aren't rules, just things that genuinely help:

• If you are asking about a problem, say what you have already tried. It saves a round of questions.
• Paste excerpts rather than screenshots of the whole screen when it's about text.
• One topic per post. Two questions in one thread usually get only one answer.

I can't post

• Instead of the writing box you see "You can't post here": the reason is shown below. Most often the trainer has made the space read-only, for example for announcements.
• The post won't send: check your connection and refresh the page. The text usually stays in the box.
• You have been blocked by a moderator. You will see a message when you try to publish. Write to the academy's trainer about it, not to us.

Attachments aren't available in posts yet; the button is inactive.

When to write to us

Only for technical issues: the post won't publish after several attempts, or the text disappears after a refresh.

The academy runs its own community. Blocks, warnings, disputes and deleting posts are decisions for its moderators.
