When to use a message and when a post

A message is a one-to-one conversation. Only the two of you can see it.

A post is visible to the whole space.

A common mistake: a subject question about the course sent privately to the trainer. If the question is general, a post helps others too and you get an answer faster, because anyone can reply.

How to write a message

1. Go to the person's profile, for example by clicking their name on a post.
2. Click "Send a message".
3. Write and send.

You can also start a conversation in Messages in the sidebar, with the "Message" button next to suggested people, or from the member directory.

Who can I message

Any member of the same academy. You can't message someone from another workspace, because you don't share a place.

You won't see the message button on your own profile or on a profile its owner has set to private.

Does the trainer read my direct messages

No. Only the two of you can see the conversation. Nobody else has access to it, including the trainer and the moderators.

Notifications

You find out about a new message from the counter next to Messages in the sidebar and from the notification bell. We don't send emails about messages, so check the app.

Someone is writing things I don't want to read

Stop replying and write to the trainer or moderator who runs the academy. Include a screenshot of the conversation, because nobody apart from the two of you can see its content.

In serious cases involving threats or harassment, the trainer decides whether to remove that person from the academy. If you feel unsafe, report it to the relevant authorities as well.

When to write to us

Technical issues: a message won't send, a conversation won't open, the unread counter doesn't clear even after you have read everything.

Disputes between people are settled by the academy, not by us. Blocking a member, warnings and removal from the community are decisions for its moderators.
