When to choose Circle
Community is the heart of your product and you want the deepest moderation and member tooling available, plus native mobile apps. A lighter course module is fine for you.
When to choose Cohorta
You want structured learning (modules, quizzes, assignments, certificates) and cohort programmes alongside the community, not just discussion. You prefer one platform for content, community, events and payments instead of stitching several tools together.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move my members from Circle?
Yes. Export your member list from Circle as a CSV and invite everyone to Cohorta in one go. During migration we help you map spaces, roles and plans. There is no direct Circle integration, and posts are not imported automatically.
Is Cohorta cheaper than Circle?
Compare the plans for your own case: Cohorta’s prices are on our pricing page, Circle’s on circle.so/pricing. Cohorta has a free plan with no time limit, and paid plans start at 69 EUR a month. Also check fees on sales: Cohorta’s platform fee falls from 10% on the free plan to 0% on Scale.
Which is better for cohort-based programmes?
Cohorta. It is built for programmes with a start date, drip content, live calls, mentoring and certificates. Circle can host a community around a cohort but does not manage the programme and progress the same way.
Do both have live events?
Yes. Both handle events, registration and reminders. Cohorta adds attendance tracking, recordings, calendar files and bookable one-to-one mentoring slots. Circle also offers its own live streaming rooms.
