Feature

Community

Cohorta treats community as a full product area, not an add-on. You get spaces (topic channels), posts with reactions, threaded comments, bookmarks and moderation. There is no algorithm: members see the spaces they follow. A community can be free, partly paid or fully paid as a membership.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Set up spaces

Topic channels such as Questions, Wins, Networking or Announcements, each with its own access rules: public, members only, by role, by product or by invitation.

  2. Step 2

    Invite members

Free of charge or through a paid membership. Invite people one by one or upload a CSV list, and welcome newcomers in a dedicated space.

  3. Step 3

    Moderate

Moderator role, post reports, temporary and permanent bans, and a moderation log that records who did what and when.

Who it is for

  • Creators running a paid or free community
  • Organisations that bring members together
  • Online schools that want a discussion space next to their courses

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Discord or Slack?

Discord and Slack are built around live chat. Cohorta is built around posts, like a forum, so older discussions are easier to find and topics stay in order. On top of that, the community sits in the same place as your courses and events.

Can I charge for the community?

Yes. Sell a membership through Stripe, billed monthly or yearly, or sell access to a single space as a product. You can offer several plans and discount codes.

Will members know when something needs their attention?

Yes. Cohorta sends in-app and email notifications, for example about a new direct message, a marked assignment or an upcoming event. Posts in the spaces a member follows are waiting for them in the community feed.
