User manualChapter 9
9. Learner: buying and learning
This chapter describes Cohorta from the learner's side: where to find an academy's offer, how to buy a product with or without an account, how to accept an invitation, how to learn (courses, lessons, quizzes, assignments, certificates) and what else you can use in the academy: resources, the ebook library, messages, events, mentoring and payment history. The staff side of the same features is covered in chapters 2, 3, 4 and 6.
9.1. Where to find an academy's offer
What it is for: before you buy or start learning, you need to find the product. An academy shows its offer in four places.
Who can see it: anyone can see the public pages, including people without an account. Only academy members see the Catalogue in Learning.
Where to find it:
| Place | Address or path | What is there |
|---|---|---|
| Academy shop | cohorta.pl/sklep/academy-address | The academy's showcase: cover, photo, description, social media links and cards for all public products. |
| Academy page | cohorta.pl/p/academy-address | A list of public products with prices and a View details button, with Log in and Create account buttons at the top. |
| Product sales page | cohorta.pl/p/academy-address/product-address | The full description of one product and a purchase form or button (section 9.2). |
| Catalogue in the app | side menu → Learning → Catalogue section | The academy's products you have not enrolled in yet (section 9.9). |
Most often you will reach the shop or a sales page through a link from your trainer.
How to go from the shop to a product
- Open the academy shop.
- Scroll to the product list. Each card shows the product type (for example Course, Ebook, Membership), the name, a short description and the price: Free or "from" and the lowest price.
- Click the card. The product's sales page opens.
Something not working?
- The message "No products yet. Check back soon." → the academy has no public products yet. Ask your trainer for a direct link.
- The message "Something went wrong." with a "Try again" button → the page did not load. Click Try again or refresh the page in a moment.
9.2. Product sales page
What it is for: here you read the product description, curriculum, testimonials and questions, and at the bottom of the page you buy or enrol. The academy decides how the page looks and what the buttons in its upper part say.
Who can see it: anyone with the link. A product the academy has marked as members only does not appear in search engines, but its page still works from a link.
Where to find it: academy shop → product card, or a link from your trainer.
How to get the product from this page
How you buy depends on the product type and the payment type.
| Product | How to get it | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Free ebook in exchange for your email | The Your email field and the Send me the free ebook button | Section 9.3 |
| Paid ebook or digital download the academy sells without an account | A form with the Your email field and the Go to payment button | Section 9.4 |
| Subscription (for example a membership) or another product bought after logging in | A Join button or a Choose button with the plan name | Section 9.8 |
| Course, programme or bundle with a one-time payment | A form with the Your email field, two required consents and the Buy and get access button with the price. Academy members can also buy in the app: Learning → Catalogue | Sections 9.7 and 9.9 |
| Free product | The Join for free button, then enrolment in the app | Section 9.9 |
| Product without a price | The sentence "This product is not on sale yet." | Ask the academy when sales will open. |
Next to the purchase buttons you also see a note that payments go through Stripe (card, BLIK, Przelewy24).
What happens after you click "Join for free"
The button takes you to the login screen. You enrol in a free product after logging in, in the app: Learning → Catalogue (section 9.9). If you are not a member of this academy yet, you will not see it after logging in. Ask the academy for an invitation (section 9.10).
9.3. Free ebook in exchange for your email

Where to find it: the course card in Learning ("X% complete"), the course page (Your progress block) and the lesson list inside a lesson.
How progress is calculated
- The percentage is the number of completed lessons divided by the number of all published lessons in the course. Every lesson counts the same.
- When the trainer adds new lessons, the number of lessons in the course goes up, so the percentage may drop.
When a lesson counts as completed
| Lesson type | When it counts |
|---|---|
| Text, audio, download, embedded content, live session | After you click Mark as completed |
| Video | On its own after you watch 95% of the recording, or after you click Mark as completed |

| Assignment | After the trainer grades your work. Submitting it is not enough. |
What happens automatically
- Progress is saved to your account. You can switch device or browser and lose nothing.
- After you complete every lesson, the course moves to the Completed group and, if the academy has certificates switched on, you get a certificate (section 9.17).
Something not working?
- The bar has not moved → refresh the page. Check that you clicked Mark as completed, that the quiz is passed and that the trainer has graded the assignment.

- Click Start quiz.
- Answer the questions. Question types: Single choice, Multiple choice, True/False, Short answer, Long answer. All questions are on one page.

Quiz results
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Passed. X/Y pts (Z%)" | Quiz passed. The lesson is completed. |
| "Not passed. X/Y pts (Z%)" | Score below the passing score. The required threshold is shown below. |

How to retake a quiz
- After a failed attempt click Try again.
- The button appears only if the trainer allows retries. By default retries are on and the passing score is 70%, unless the trainer set it differently.
